Project Timeline

Prologue

AR wearables like Meta Ray-Ban and Apple Vision Pro have the potential to blend digital and real worlds, but users increasingly report cognitive overload, visual fatigue, and attention fragmentation. For AR to succeed, presence, focus, and wellbeing must be core to the OS itself and not an afterthought app or setting.

User Validation

Indirect Research Sources:

•  Apple Vision Pro: Early adopter reviews •  Ray-Ban Meta: User fatigue reports •  Academic Studies: AR-induced cognitive load research

SIMULATED PERSONA VALIDATION VIA SURVEYS & PROXIES:

Interesting Insights

•  AR fatigue kicks in after 45-60 mins continuous use. •  Users dislike overly frequent, non-contextual notifications. •  AR users want “ambient, soft” wellbeing features, not abrupt “Take a Break” popups. •  No clear OS-level wellbeing system exists yet: a huge opportunity gap.
