Kaira
Personal Project Work in Progress

Every time I sit down on the couch after a long day of designing, my TV feels less like a relaxing entertainment hub and more like an aggressive shopping mall. Between seven streaming apps, auto-playing trailers, and zero connection to my own media server or game library, just picking something to play or watch feels like work. Kaira is my personal project born out of that frustration: a calm, controller-first 10-foot media shell with 0 ads, designed to bring movies, TV shows, FLAC music, and future game library integration into one unified living room experience.

Craft & Focus Areas:

Controller-First UI 0 Ads & Zero Bloat 10-Foot Focus Engine Media & Game Hub tvOS Architecture Lossless Music Dock Personal R&D

The Friction (Challenge):

Modern Smart TVs are cluttered, sluggish with a gamepad, and treat your personal media and games like second-class citizens. Jumping between multiple launchers just to check your watchlist or boot up a game ruins the couch vibe.

My Role:

Designer & Developer. Engineering the gamepad/D-pad focus physics, ambient lighting bleed, zero-ad architecture, game launcher concepts, and the frontend shell prototype from scratch.

Kaira: Living Room Preview & Media Dock
The TV Experience Today

Laggy menus, promotional clutter, endless app-hopping, intrusive ad banners, and zero connection between your personal media server, PC game library, and daily streaming services.

The Kaira Approach

Deep OLED blacks, strict 0-ad sanctuary, snappy controller focus snaps with analog stick easing, ambient backlight sync, and a single calm shelf for movies, music, and your game library.

Pillars of Kaira

Gamepad UX Tuned specifically for controller navigation with tactile bumper paging and D-pad precision.
0 Ads Zero sponsored banners, no forced trailer popups, and no algorithmic upsells. Ever.
Unified Shelf Movies, local collections, lossless music, and upcoming game library integration in one hub.
Strictly WIP Currently testing controller ergonomics and interactive prototypes in the living room.

All your media. One living room shell.

Concept Vision & Reflections

Kaira started because I wanted a single, controller-friendly way to browse cinema, stream lossless music, and eventually launch my personal game collection from the sofa with zero ads. By focusing on tactile focus rings, dark glass layers, and absolute visual purity, Kaira aims to make turning on the TV feel like a pleasure again.

Controller-First UX Gamepad D-pad and analog stick navigation tuned to feel tactile, snappy, and effortless.
0 Ads No commercial clutter, sponsored banners, or forced popups. Pure media and games.
Unified Library Local server files, streaming platforms, and personal media coexisting in one dock.
Ambient Sync Gentle UI light bleeds that extend the movie mood into the physical room.
Future Game Hub Roadmap includes linking personal Steam, emulation, and PC game libraries directly to the shell.
Work In Progress Interactive WebGL prototype and controller mapping iterations in progress.
